Participant Introductions

Dear all DIMA-participants,

My name is Sanna Tyrväinen and I am an administrative coordinator of DIMA 2010 intensive course. Besides DIMA I work at HAMK Business Point as a marketing assistant and also write my final thesis at the moment. Hopefully I will graduate this spring from HAMK International Business Administration degree program where I am studying international management as my major.  

Now this far I have being part of arranging DIMA-participants' accommodation, leisure activities and all the practicalities relating to your visit here in Hämeenlinna during weeks 15 and 16. I have had few active students helping me to plan and implement DIMA intensive weeks' leisure activities and we will be your hosts and hostesses during your stay in Hämeenlinna. Pauliina, Ronja, Iina, Karri and Piia will introduce themselves here and share some cultural knowledge about Finland with you.

One thing I would like you to know about Finland and be prepared in advance is that we have had colder weather than usual in this spring so please remember to pack enough warm clothes. We have still a lot of snow and during night time minus degrees! :)

My name is Iina Korpivaara. I study business economics at HAMK and I'm one of the people who's been planning leisure activities for you. I hope you'll enjoy all of them!

I'm not going to tell you anything else about me here. I guess we'll get to know each other soon enough, face to face. :)

Hello, you all!

Hi, my name is Karri Koskelo, I´m 23 years old and this is my second year in HAMK University of Applied Sciences. As a major subject I study customer service skills and marketing management and as a minor I study management accounting and financing. 

I think that we´ll see a few times when you are here but mostly I´ll be in the background because I have a lot of other courses  at the same time. We have organized some evening program for you and I will be in those events with you.  I hope you all enjoy your time here in Finland. And enjoy the Spring which is, like Sanna said, late in this year! :)

Something I want you to know about Finland and Hämeenlinna: In my picture you can see the Häme Castle and I have a feeling that you´ll see it live in a few weeks. And what comes to Finland, remember that NOKIA comes from here! haha..

My name is Ronja Alén. I'm 21 years old student from Hämeenlinna. I study business economics at HAMK University of Applied Sciences. I study marketing as my major and I'm very interested in it. In future I would like to work with marketing and advertising. Also the student life is quite fun if you know what I mean.

I've planned some evening program with Sanna and other student. I hope you will enjoy your time here and get a lot of good memories.

I'm happy red hair person who is little bit nerd with big glasses and great sence of humor. Or not :)

Is there any cliché what haven't been said yet about Finland? Well...SAUNA! I hope you all have heard something about sauna. It's a little hot (+80-100 Celsius) room! I believe that you will get some (great) experiences about Finish sauna during your trip.
